HBM Construction took over an abandoned, water-damaged stairwell replacement project and successfully brought it to completion in collaboration with a seasoned, San Francisco–based architect. The project’s key feature was the use of an all-steel structural system to replace deteriorated wood framing, significantly improving durability and performance. At the same time, the design carefully preserved the building’s original brick aesthetic, maintaining its historic character while delivering a modern, long-lasting structural solution.
